Could Brewdog in Milton Keynes become a coronavirus vaccination centre?

The CEO of beer company Brewdog has said the company are "in talks with the Government" about using their closed bars as coronavirus vaccination centres.

James Watt, CEO at Brewdog, tweeted the Health Secretary Matt Hancock and Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon with his proposal to assist with the vaccine rollout.

He said: "We would like to offer our closed Brewdog venues to help with a quick roll out of the vaccine. For free."

"We have waiting areas, huge refrigerators, seperate rooms for vaccinatations and an ace team who can help organise."

    "We want to help."

His initial offer was retweeted more than 15,000 times and he has since given an update on the progress of the discussions.

"We are in now talks with the Minister For Vaccine Deployment Nadhim Zahawi and Nicola Sturgeon."

"We are here and ready to do whatever we can to help get our country through this pandemic."

"We are also going to give everyone who gets vaccinated at a BrewDog bar a special commemorative beer."

BrewDog have a location in Central Milton Keynes close to The Hub. But it is not yet known which of the companies UK locations are included in the discussions.

The news comes as Milton Keynes Council Leader Peter Marland hinted at plans for a new vaccination centre in the centre of the city earlier this month.

However, the centre planned by the Council is proposed to be located at Saxon Court, opposite the new Next Beauty store.
