Virtual tour lets Milton Keynes residents go back in time and explore a Woolworths store

A newly released virtual tour lets us take a look back at one of the most popular stores from back in the day, Woolworths.

Earlier this year, rumours circulated that the department store could be making a return to the UK high street. This understandably sparked real excitement amongst the population, especially here in Milton Keynes as the centre:mk was home to the much-loved retailer.

Residents were questioning whether the iconic pick'n'mix would be making a return, and were wondering how the chain would adapt to fit in with the modern shopping world.

But much to our disappointment, it was announced that this was all a hoax. The Very Group, which owns the Woolworths Trademark in the UK, confirmed that Woolworths would not be returning to any high street at all.

Following this news, to give us a much-needed boost, onlineslots.co.uk has created a virtual tour showing a Woolworths store exactly how it would have been 30 years ago.

The virtual tour guide begins the narration: "Let us take you back 30 years to a better time.

"We're talking about when the Macarena was a national dance movement, Turkey Twizzlers were a school dinner delicacy, and Saturday nights were reserved for Gladiators and Blind Date."

And whilst the narrator makes us feel all nostalgic, the camera is slowly moving towards the store, and eventually, we see the doors open before heading inside.

The video has everything you'll remember - from cheap tins of Quality Street's to Tamagotchi's. It has hit us in the feels!
