Over 1,000 people in Milton Keynes sign petition for teachers to get priority in vaccine rollout

The petition now has over 170,000 signatures nationally and is awaiting a parliamentary debate as well as a government debate.

It calls for priority to be given for a number of reasons - including to provide more protection for children and their families.

In addition, the petition says the plans would reduce the chance of settings being closed for 2 weeks and working parents having to take time off work.

And the author says it would schools to return to normality faster, having a positive impact on children’s mental health.

563 people in the Milton Keynes North constituency and 564 people in the Milton Keynes South area have given their support to the petition so far.

It comes as it has been confirmed that the start of term will be delayed for both primary school and secondary school pupils in our city.
