Murder investigation launched following death of 39 year old woman in Milton Keynes

    A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 39 year old woman at a property in Brent in Tinkers Bridge near Milton Keynes.

    Police received a report that a woman was injured inside a property at about 6.30am on Tuesday (29/5).

    She was found to have sustained multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital.

    The victim, 39-year-old Joanne Bishop of Tinkers Bridge, died today in hospital (2/6). Her next of kin are aware.

    Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Stuart Blaik, of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime unit, said: "A team of detectives is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident."

    "A specially trained family liaison officer is supporting Joanne’s next of kin and our thoughts remain with her relatives at this incredibly difficult time."

    A man was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted murder in connection with the incident.

    He appeared at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (30/5) and was remanded to appear at Oxford Crown Court on 25 June.
