Milton Keynes Community Foundation announce £20,000 double your donation challenge

This September, the charity is giving you the opportunity to support the local cause closest to your heart whilst having double the impact in their biannual Match Fund Challenge.

Twice a year, MK Community Foundation helps to make your generosity go even further through their Match Fund Challenges.

September Spectacular will see £20,000 given out through match funding and will double the donations you make to participating Milton Keynes charities and community groups.

From Monday 12th to Friday 23rd, organisations could have up to £500 in donations matched, or £1,000 if they’re working to support people with disabilities and/or mental health problems.

"This is going to make a huge difference" said Emily Purchase, Philanthropy Manager at MK Community Foundation.

Many charities are still trying to recover from the disastrous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and are now standing face to face with a new threat - the Cost-of-Living Crisis.

“Charities and Community groups in Milton Keynes are facing the same cost of living crisis as us, not only will their organisational costs be going up, but their beneficiaries will be suffering too.”

By October, energy bills will have risen by 170% within a year, increasing the number of households in fuel poverty to 8.9 million. (National Energy Action (NEA). 2022.)[1]

“…to be able to have their donations doubles is going to be really impactful.”
