IN PICTURES: Black Lives Matter protest takes place at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes

A small protest for Black Lives Matter took place at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes yesterday.

The event is the second to take place in as many weeks in our city, with a larger event taking place last Saturday at Milton Keynes Railway Station.

A number of people gathered at around lunchtime to hear speeches from members of the local community and 'take the knee'.

Posters were seen at the event with messages including 'Black Lives Matter', 'No Justice, No Peace', 'Racism Is The Real Pandemic' and 'Colour Is Not A Crime'.

Social distancing was maintained throughout the static protest, with a small Police presence also at the event.

As well as protests in Milton Keynes, local organisations have also been showing their commitment to the cause.

Milton Keynes Council lit up the Civic Offices in the City Centre in purple for two nights last week in memory of George Floyd, whose death sparked protests worldwide.
