Hundreds of people continue searching for dog that has been missing from Milton Keynes for over a week

The local community has come together to search for a much-loved family dog called Willow that has been missing for over a week.

Willow is a female Golden Retriever that slipped out of her home in New Bradwell on Saturday 19th June 2021.

She is an elderly, spayed, poorly dog and her owners have become increasingly concerned for her safety and whereabouts.

MKFM published an appeal for any information last week but despite widespread coverage, there have been no confirmed sightings or credible leads.

There is a Facebook page called Help Find Willow from New Bradwell that has nearly 3,000 dedicated residents following it, hoping to soon hear that Willow has been found.

The page is used to publish possible sightings, share any updates and issue callouts for searches.

On Sunday (27/6), a large-scale ground search took place around the Grand Union Canal; hundreds of volunteers each searched their allocated area hoping to find Willow.

Hedgerows, wooded areas and redways were searched but nobody could find a trace. Willow's owners are now organising a drone search so that more ground can be covered.

Willow's owners are completely heartbroken and are calling on anybody with information to come forward.

The family said: "Have you taken her in, did you think she was abandoned and unloved? Have you seen all the posters and social media and are now scared of getting in trouble?

"Please, we're not interested in you we just want Willow home..you can take her to any vet and say you've just found her straying. Or contact Dog Squad MK and we will meet you anywhere anonymously and take her home. Please do the right thing..thank you."

Alternatively, you can visit the Milton Keynes Police Station as they have a microchip scanner. You can remain anonymous.

Those who wish to assist Willow's family with any further searches can find out how to volunteer by visiting the Facebook page
