375 new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes today as national deaths pass 80,000

    There were an additional 375 new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes today as the number of national deaths passed 80,000.

    An additional 1,035 people nationally have sadly died within 28 days of a positive test, taking the UK-wide total to 80,868 since the start of the pandemic.

    59,937 new positive cases were recorded today nationally.

    Meanwhile locally, the 7-day case rate has now passed 1,000 in Milton Keynes for the first time and stands at 1,010.6 cases per 100,000 people.

    That's an increase from the 968.2 cases per 100,000 people today reported yesterday.

    The total number of cases in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic stands at 13,411 - 2,578 of those have been recorded in the past seven days.

    For comparison, the current case rate in Bedford is 1,029.5, 684.2 in Central Bedfordshire, 949.5 in Luton and 639.5 for the UK as a whole.
