207 new coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes today as latest data released

There were 207 new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes today, according to the latest Public Health England data.

It brings the total number of people tested positive in the city since the start of the pandemic to 10,062 - of which 2,252 have been in the past seven days.

The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has now increased from 780.8 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 814.2 cases per 100,000 people today.

It comes as it has been confirmed that primary school opening will be delayed in Milton Keynes - alongside secondary school opening.

For comparison, the case rate in Bedford is 615.7, 491.9 in Central Bedfordshire, 525.2 in Luton and 377 for the UK as a whole.

Nationally, there were an additional 55,892 people tested positive and an additional 964 people sadly died within 28 days of a positive test.

Milton Keynes currently sits under Tier 4 restrictions with people in our area being told to 'stay at home' under the rules except under limited exceptions - for example if you can't work from home, for education, childcare or exercise.

tier review took place yesterday but Milton Keynes will remain in the highest level of restrictions.
