The Portuguese Conspiracy presents: Tó Trips & João Doce

Tó Trips (Dead Combo) and João Doce (Wraygunn). Two guys are on a beach in the north of Portugal and flock to the far islands of Sumba! An imaginary world, which obliges us to a mindfulness: in Sumba there is no time, there is no urgency. Everything is contemplated, admired, it is considered beautiful and unpolluted.
Tó on guitar, João Doce on percussion. Sumba is born so this creative need of two talented musicians who, above all, are friends. It is a free exercise, spontaneous, experimental and tribalism. Such as Sumba Island, these 5 songs are conspicuous by their biodiversity.
About the programme:
"The events programme for the exhibition has been deeply infused by Paula Rego’s independent spirit of defiance: Collaborative, diverse and explorative, the path trailed by the generation of artists present, has been opened up and enlightened by Paula Rego’s beacon of creative autonomy and freedom.
We feel the programme is therefore, as much an atmospheric companion for the retrospective, as it is a tribute to Paula Rego’s deep, and long lasting influence in cutting through the thick air of Portugal’s “dusty” legacy of political dictatorship at many levels. Then and now, Paula’s fearless art touches, enlightens and expands."
