MKFM Review: Romanelli

Irish Jo from the MKFM team was invited to try a takeaway from Romanelli, here is her full review...

Irish Jo reviews Romanelli’s Takeaway, the authentic Italian restaurant in Bletchley with another pop-up shop behind Ronnie’s car wash, Watling St.

Friday evenings in our home are pizza nights, so when my newest client asked me to try a takeaway, how could I say no?

Our collection included three pizzas, garlic bread, and some nice Italian fizzy drinks, San Pellegrino.

You can tell the moment you open the box that they have been made in their traditional Italian pizza oven.

I had the “Prosicutto and Funghi” pizza. The crunch into the first bite brought me back to sitting on a Sardinian beach with my friend Giulia, when I was 14 who gave me the experience of my then first authentic pizza – you never forget it.

The stone-baked crisp with the flavours of San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, and mushroom, just melted in my mouth. I could tell the feeling was mutual around the table, as Miguel and Laila had the same mouth-watering expression whilst tucking into the Margherita for Laila and of course the Pepperoni for Miguel.

Romanelli’s menu boasts over 20 pizzas including a “make your own” option which also offers gluten-free & vegan alternatives!

Romanelli does not just specialise in pizzas though, their menu offers an extensive range of starters from your usual favourites of garlic bread to the more traditional Arancinis, Calzones, and of course the traditional Gelato to round it off.

I could not recommend Romanelli’s enough, we will definitely be adding this to our regular takeaway on a Friday!

Romanelli’s has now opened a dine-in restaurant in Chandos Place in Bletchley too.
