Milton Keynes company becomes largest carbon neutral vehicle repairer in Buckinghamshire

Vehicle Crash Repairs expands into new 30,000 sq.ft site and take the driving seat for greener repairs in Milton Keynes.

One of the fastest growing and evolving independent BS10125 insurance approved accident repair centres in Milton Keynes has become the largest carbon neutral vehicle repairer in Buckinghamshire achieving a PAS 2060 accreditation.

VCR – Vehicle Crash Repairs has demonstrated and met specific requirements for quantifying, reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions to achieve carbon neutrality – PAS 2060.

VCR has taken significant steps towards a greener and more sustainable way in which vehicles are repaired with its expansion and relocation into a new workshop in Tongwell - which has had over £1,000,000 invested into its fit out and equipment.

The 30,000 sq.ft facility has undergone a full refurbishment, installing all-new fully electric spray booths, state-of-the-art green technology and equipment. The accident repair centre has adopted sustainable practices and invested heavily into renewable energy projects to reduce the environmental impact when repairing vehicles.

VCR is underway with its comprehensive plans to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and waste with the use of energy-efficient technology and systems, automated LED lighting throughout the building, implementing recycling and waste management programs and making operational changes. The business will be offsetting its remaining emissions through renewable energy projects and carbon offset programs.

Further plans to reduce its carbon footprint include a reduction of energy use and dependence on fossil fuels as VCR will install solar panels within the first year of operating from its new site - enabling the use of renewable energy.

Managing Director, Rob Clark comments: “We’re thrilled to have been accredited with PAS 2060 so soon after moving into our new site. As VCR evolves, going green has been at the forefront of all our business decisions and investments as we are aware of the carbon footprint repair centres create and are working hard to reduce the environmental impact when repairing vehicles. We believe that our industry should be leading the way in pushing for more businesses to become carbon neutral.”

“From the beginning, VCR’s mission was to provide a high-quality repaired finish with a friendly and reliable service – the same principle has been at the core of VCR throughout its development over the years and is one of the main contributors to our ever-growing success.”

Born out of a passion for cars and attention to detail, Rob Clark founded the business in 2011. Aspiring to be the best repairer in the area, Rob has employed the best local people in business, invested heavily into the training and development of his team and has built an outstanding reputation over the past 13-years - quickly growing to become a well-known, honest, and reliable independent accident repair centre in Milton Keynes.
