Vaccination Centre in Central Milton Keynes to close this Friday

The vaccination centre at Saxon Court will close on Friday 18th March.

The NHS Clinical Commissioning Group covering Milton Keynes has confirmed the centre will close this Friday. They say the closure is in reflection of the number of vaccinations being delivered and as the national COVID-19 vaccination programme continues.

No appointments are being accepted after that date and walk-ins will cease at 3pm.

Geraint Davies, Senior Responsible Officer for NHS Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, said “We are thankful to Milton Keynes Council for the support they have given to the vaccination programme with the use of Saxon Court. Now we are moving towards living with COVID-19, this change reflects the need to constantly review our facilities and the best use of premises to deliver the vaccine.”

Saxon Court was offered to the NHS as a major vaccination centre back in 2020, and made essential refits needed by the NHS to accommodate staff and equipment.

It officially opened as a vaccination centre in February 2021 and was originally due to run until October, until it was extended to stay open during the winter period.

Residents can still walk in to Stadium MK for vaccinations as well as many community pharmacies that offer the vaccine through the National Booking System or the Rainbow Pharmacy at the Open University.
