Three members of staff from a local business are set to take on the National Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Milton Keynes Food Bank.

A trio from Milton Keynes will be hiking the three tallest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours in a bid to raise funds for MK Food Bank.

Matthew Smith, Jordan Pope in the photo and Claude Tshimanga, who work for TSYS Managed Services EMEA will be taking on the challenge on 6th May.

MK Food Bank provides emergency food parcels to families and individuals in Milton Keynes, who have hit a short term crisis. Between January and March 2023, the Food Bank saw an increased demand of 49% on the same period last year.

As well as an increase to demand, the Food Bank has also had to deal with the cost of food rising.

Despite seeing over 2,700 Food Parcels going out in MK alone during the month of March, the charity is only receiving around half of what it needs to deliver, leading them to spend over £20k per month to make up the shortfall.

The TSYS team are looking to raise £1,850 which will go towards:

    • £1,000 for 50 emergency food parcels.

    • £500 for the diesel bill for the food bank's vans for a month.

    • £250 for tinned goods.

    • £100 for 20 family recipe kits to encourage cooking skills and food education

TSYS, based at Caldecotte, is an outsourced contact centre, which provides customer service, risk management, collections, and back office and help desk related services for its clients.
