The MK Midnight Moo makes a sensational return to MK

MKFM, the media partner of the event, covered the evening as a huge amount was raised for Willen Hospice

The ten mile midnight walk across the redways of Milton Keynes took place at Midnight on Saturday 15th July. Starting and finishing at intu Milton Keynes, the hugely popular fundraising event has been held every year by Willen Hospice since 2009 to raise funds to support the specialist end-of-life care they provide.

To celebrate MK50, Moo 2017 had a golden theme (which encouraged some hugely creative fancy dress outfits by participants) and for one year only offered a limited number of Gold Bond male participant places.

Willen Hospice is an independent charity that provides specialist end of life care in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. To continue to provide this care, they need to raise £7 every minute – which works out to around £3.6 million every year - from the local community.

The 2017 MK Midnight Moo saw over 1,300 walkers take part and, to date, over £100,000 in sponsorship has been pledged to Willen Hospice.

Sarah Sweet Rowley, Events Manager at Willen Hospice, said “What a night! The atmosphere and camaraderie was just incredible and it was wonderful to see over 1300 take on those ten miles to help raise vital funds for Willen Hospice.  The Moo is our biggest fundraiser of the year and so important to our annual fundraising. The dedication shown by all the ladies – and all the Gold Bond placed men - was as awe inspiring as ever. From everyone at Willen Hospice we’d like to say a huge thank you to every walker, volunteer, sponsor and supporter who made this year’s Moo one of the best yet!”
