The council will also actively work with the community to find a permanent community use for Bracknell House

Labour Council Leader Pete Marland has responded to the concerns of residents and intervened to keep Bracknell House open as a wedding venue.

The council will also actively work with the community to find a permanent community use for the Grade Two listed building.

Other registry office services will move to Saxon Court which is more accessible for wheelchairs and prams, as well as, being easier to access by public transport.

“I have listened to residents and they told me that they want to continue to have the option to get married at Bracknell House as a lower cost, intimate venue,” said Pete Marland, Leader of the Council. “Saxon Court will also remain available for larger weddings, giving people affordable options for their special day.”
