Househunting in Milton Keynes is still facing a big surge, so why not take a look at one of the most premium and unique properties on the market?

The 'new town' of Milton Keynes offers plenty of new-build houses and apartments, alongside historical listed properties that date back hundreds of years.

Earlier this year, MKFM discovered the top 10 most expensive streets in Milton Keynes, with Woburn Sands topping the list.

And just on the border of Woburn Sands is the village of Aspley Guise, which is also home to plenty of premium properties.

One of the most sought-after, and particularly interesting properties is The Old School Works - a Grade II listed former Village School that has been converted into a family home.

The Old School Works is currently up for sale, and offers are in the region of £1,875,000.

The unique four-bed house is set in a rural area with paddock land in front and woodland and open countryside to the rear.

Estate agents Michael Graham say that the oldest stone-built part of the property was built in 1847. It was used as a school up until 1940, and during the war, it was used to house 213 evacuee children.

It has since been converted into a spacious, open-plan house that still boasts some of its original features. Estate agents Michael Graham explain: "The property has been finished to a high specification throughout including handmade oak doors and windows, marble flooring, underfloor heating throughout, a bespoke staircase and a handmade kitchen. Two heat exchangers ensure that warm fresh air is recirculated at all times."
