Stop and search order extended following fight involving axes and knives in Milton Keynes

    Thames Valley Police has extended a Section 60 Order until 8.46am on Tuesday (22/6) following a fight involving axes and knives in Milton Keynes.

    It follows an incident on Sunday (20/6) at about 7.30pm in Weavers Hill, Fullers Slade.

    Members of the public reported seeing two groups involved in the fight, with people seen in possession of knives, axes and other bladed articles.

    Officers attended the scene and it is not believed that anyone has been injured.

    Two people were arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed article and affray, they remain in custody at this time.

    Superintendent Marc Tarbit, LPA Commander for Milton Keynes, said: “I have made the decision to extend the Section 60 Order for a further 12 hours which will allow us extra powers to stop and search people.

    “Orders such as this are put in place to aid police investigations, as well as to ensure the safety of the public.

    “Our officers are also in the area on patrol as we continue our investigation. If you have any concerns, please feel free to approach them.

    “The order will covers Fullers Slade, Greenleys, Stony Stratford and Wolverton.”

    In other news, a man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Fenny Stratford yesterday (20/6).

    The victim, a man in his thirties, sustained multiple stab wounds and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
