Plans for new block of flats on former police station site in Milton Keynes

Plans have been submitted to the city council for a new block of flats to replace the derelict police station in Bletchley.

Plans have been submitted to Milton Keynes City Council by the Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) to demolish an empty police station in Bletchley.

The plans also include the construction of a new block of flats, up to 10-storeys high.

Bletchley Police Station has been empty since the opening of the Blue Light Hub back in back in 2020.

The hub saw the merger of some of Milton Keynes' existing fire stations and police stations to create a centre for emergency services.

Now, the site is owned by the MKDP, who have submitted the plans to Milton Keynes City Council.

In a development brief for the land, which acts as a guide, it has been stated that housing should be built at a density of 150 to 250 dwellings per hectare.

The site currently comprises 5 buildings associated with the police station, all of which are currently vacant.

In the planning application, it states that demolition work could begin as soon as November.

The plans can be viewed here.
