Amidst extensive renovations, the reopening date of the refurbished Lidl store in Milton Keynes has been revealed.
The supermarket, located on Oldbrook Boulevard, has been confirmed to welcome customers again on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The date was revealed via the Lidl app, marking the culmination of extensive renovation work that began earlier this year.
Lidl's expansion plans initially faced delays after the supermarket's planning permission, granted in 2021 by Milton Keynes City Council, was challenged by Tesco through a judicial review. This legal action required the council to reassess the planning application.
The refurbishment involved demolishing a row of stores at the local centre to create space for a much larger Lidl, increasing the store’s size by more than a third.
Once reopened, the upgraded supermarket will feature 128 parking spaces, including two rapid electric vehicle charging bays, offering modern conveniences for local shoppers.
