A trail of lights in the sky seen across Milton Keynes has now been revealed as Elon Musk's Starlink satellites.

Residents in Milton Keynes have spotted a bright trail of lights in the sky overnight, with reports of the sight being seen across the South East of England.

It has been revealed that the lights are Starlink satellites launched by Elon Musk's American aerospace company SpaceX.

Starlink is a constellation of thousands of satellites that orbit the planet close to Earth, at about 550km, and cover the entire globe, delivering broadband internet.

The trail of satellites is the “world's first and largest satellite constellation," according to the Starlink website.

On a clear night, the satellites can be spotted without a telescope. One resident in Milton Keynes, captured the image of the trail again last night.

website has been launched to allow residents to track the satellites here.
