Milton Keynes foster team joins national campaign addressing shortage of local carers

Milton Keynes City Council has joined authorities across the country to get more local people involved with fostering.

Currently, there are around 360 children in the care system in Milton Keynes, which a significant number are placed outside of Milton Keynes with Independent Fostering Agencies meaning they are leaving everything they know behind.

The foster team at Milton Keynes City Council says there is a need for more local carers to care for Milton Keynes children to keep them in their local community, keeping their schooling, friends and family as consistent as possible.

Now, Milton Keynes City Council has joined over 80 local authorities to address the national shortage of foster carers.

A powerful 3 minute video has been launched named “Any of Us”, telling the story of ordinary people who foster local children.
