Milton Keynes charity swelled by £35K after A Question of Sport fundraiser

Sports fans and charity supporters went head to head last week, for a Question of Sport with a difference.

Taking its lead from the hugely popular TV show, this particular quiz was fittingly hosted at Stadium MK, to raise money for MK charity, Harry's Rainbow.

Retired cricketer Darren Gough MBE and MKFM's Trevor Marshall hosted the quiz of the year which delivered an evening of fun, entertainment, and aforementioned fundraising, to support bereaved children and young adults.

Former footballers Emile Heskey and Barry Fry were also in attendance, and each table at the sporting event was football club themed.

Participants enjoyed a three-course dinner, games and entertainment and the all important chance to show off their sporting knowledge in the quiz.

The black tie occasion showed itself to be a winning one too - raising a whopping £35,000 for the charity!

Carly and Jo represented MKFM at the bash, and had a great time!

"It used to be held elsewhere, and I love that this event has now been brought home to the city," Carly said, "It really is a highlight on my calendar and such good fun, while making a real difference to such an important charity."

    > A Question of Sport will return next year. Date TBC.
