Local Parish Council takes ownership of South Furzton Meeting Place in Milton Keynes

South Furzton Meeting Place is now under Parish management in the latest series of transfers from Milton Keynes City Council.

Shenley Brook End & Tattenhoe Parish Council has taken ownership of South Furzton Meeting Place, located at the local centre on Blackmoor Gate.

This is the latest in a series of transfers of community halls from Milton Keynes City Council to parish ownership, with a view to making venues more available to residents in the area.

The Meeting Place has an indoor function room, two large outdoor areas and will be available for parties, businesses, charities and community groups.

“While we will be making some improvements to the Meeting Place, it’s a good hall in a good location, so this is a great opportunity to improve residents’ access to a much-needed venue.”

“Every penny from room hire goes back into running the halls, which has allowed us to upgrade every centre we have taken over. We look forward to realising the full potential of South Furzton Meeting Place.”

From next week, the Parish Council will start taking bookings for events in March.
