Leah Williamson will be coming home to host a book signing in Milton Keynes this month.
Waterstones, Midsummer Place, have today (16/6) announced that MK's very own Leah Williamson will be coming home to Milton Keynes for a very special book signing to celebrate the release of You Have the Power: Find Your Strength and Believe You Can on 26th June at 4pm.
Tickets are just £9.99 and include entry for one person and a copy of her book to collect at the event. Parents accompanying their children do not require a ticket (one accompanying adult per child with ticket)
Last summer, Leah Williamson led the Lionesses to victory in the European Championships and captured the nation’s hearts. Williamson, who was born and raised in Newport Pagnell, plays for Arsenal and was named captain ahead of the summer tournament.
Since then, she has gone on to become the first person ever to be awarded freedom of the city of Milton Keynes.
The Freedom of the City is an honour given by a local council in recognition of exceptional service and achievements.
It is one of the oldest lasting traditional ceremonies.
In You Have the Power, Leah show’s children, and especially girls, aged 11+ that they can achieve anything they put their minds to, no matter what other people say.
Written with journalist, Suzanne Wrack, Leah’s first book is a positive guide for life which she hopes will inspire and motivate younger generations of girls to lead, find their strength and believe they can achieve what they love.
