How to dispose of your real Christmas Tree in Milton Keynes

There are many ways to dispose of your Christmas Tree now that the festive season is over.

Milton Keynes City Council will be collecting real Christmas trees on household's normal collection days between Wednesday 3 January and Saturday 13 January 2024.

To have your bins collected, they must be either left in a closed green bin with decorations removed or placed next to your green bin IF the trunk is less than 15cm in diameter.

Local Milton Keynes charity Willen Hospice is also doing a real Christmas Tree collection for a small donation.

The service is available for people living in postcodes MK1 to MK19, MK43, MK46, LU7 and NN12 with collections taking place between January 5 - 7 2024.  All residents need to do is head to the Willen Hospice website and find ‘Christmas tree collection’.

A collection can then be booked for a suggested donation of £12, then on 5th January they just need to leave their Christmas tree outside ready for it to be collected. The trees will be given a second life as wood chip to be used as mulch on public and farm land.

Christmas trees can also be taken to the local tip.
