Founder of Milton Keynes charity Harry's Rainbow awarded MBE for services to bereaved children and families

Odette Mould, founder of Harry's Rainbow has been awarded one of the highest honours for her services to Bereaved Children and Families in Milton Keynes.

Harry’s Rainbow was founded by the parents of Harry Mould who died aged just 5 years old. The experience they had in finding local child centered support for Harry's twin sister Jessica drove them to start a child bereavement charity and raise awareness of the needs and services available to bereaved children.

The charity supports children and young people in the Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, who have been bereaved of a parent or sibling. As well as providing information and guidance on their website and social networking sites, they provide various bereavement support services. These include regular support groups, activities and trips, and individual tailored support, as appropriate.

Today (2/6), The Queen’s Birthday Honours list has been released ahead of her Platinum Jubilee and Odette Mould has is among those being celebrated.

The charity's founder is being honoured with an MBE. This rank recognises outstanding achievements or service to the community which have had a long-term significant impact.

Odette told MKFM: "I’m still utterly dumbfounded but proud that Harry’s rainbow has been created to support bereaved children in memory of my son Harry"

She wrote on social media today: 'I just can’t believe it. I can’t believe that I would receive this honour.' she said, 'There are countless people like me making change, making a difference and every one of them deserve to be recognised.'
