Yesterday evening (28th July), Firefighters were called to a parkland blaze in the Wolverton Mill area of Milton Keynes.

The fire was seen spreading across parkland at Wolverton Mill balancing lakes.

Residents took to social media after spotting smoke from across the town.

It has not yet been confirmed how the fire started.

MKFM has contacted Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue for more information.

With the weather being quite dry recently, The Met Office states that the moisture content of dead or dry grass is significantly affected by the content of the air and this leads to a peak in fire potential and risk of spreading.
