A family-friendly funfair will be keeping residents busy in Newport Pagnell this weekend.

Riverside Meadow will be transformed into a bustling space complete with classic rides including the waltzer and bumper cars.

The funfair will be open from Thursday (1/7) to Sunday (4/7), starting at 5pm on the weekdays and 1pm on the weekend.

Newport Pagnell Town Council says that cards and cash will be accepted as normal, however, the only change is that toilet facilities will be closed.

Although local people seem to be excited about the return of the fair, some have shared their confusion as to why this has been organised while the historic carnival has been cancelled.

The carnival was due to be taking place this weekend however organisers announced earlier this year that it could not be arranged when the summer situation "remained unknown".

In 2020, the Newport Pagnell Carnival was set to mark its 60th anniversary with the theme '60 years of memories'. This was pushed back to 2021, with organisers getting their ideas at the ready, but unfortunately, the birthday celebrations were delayed once more.
