'Eat Out To Help Out' set to continue at selected restaurants across Milton Keynes next month

The 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme is set to continue at selected independent restaurants across Milton Keynes next month.

After the success of the government's 'Eat Out To Help Out' initiative in August, many local restaurants, cafes and pubs are continuing the scheme themselves throughout September.

The Eat Out To Help Out scheme, designed to encourage people to eat out and support the hospitality industry with 50% off a meal (food and non-alcoholic drinks) Monday to Wednesday - with a maximum discount of £10 per person, is due to finish at the end of August.

After receiving reports that the scheme has been so popular in Milton Keynes that pubs and restaurants have had to turn customers away, with some saying they have never seen their establishments so busy during the week, many have suggested that they will be continuing the offer themselves throughout September.

And MKFM will be supporting businesses who choose to continue the offer with a number of free marketing options. We've already contacted hundreds of the independent businesses who have taken part this month to see if they are set to continue.

Make sure you have liked MKFM on Facebook because we will be posting the list of restaurants in Milton Keynes taking part again next month very soon.

Darren Dorrington, CEO at MKFM, said ‘"Eat Out to Help Out has been fantastic in Milton Keynes. It was essential that MKFM helped the leisure industry get back on it’s feet with our free marketing offering during August."

"A number of local businesses are keen to keep up the momentum and offer some form of discount directly. MKFM will continue to help promote any offers that are available to our listeners and online followers during September and beyond free of charge."

Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt said: "It's been fantastic to see how buzzing MK's bars and restaurants have been during Eat Out To Help Out, especially our awesome independent sector."

"MKFM have played a blinder in helping to market the scheme - truly a local radio station! I'm not aware of any plans to extend the scheme beyond August, but that said I'm not privvy to all of Rishi's plans!"

"So it's absolutely brilliant MKFM are now leading the way in continuing a similar offer for Milton Keynes - it'll be fantastic for our local economy, for jobs and for our local businesses."

Meanwhile, Milton Keynes South MP Iain Stewart added: "I'm pleased that the Government scheme has been such a success in Milton Keynes during August. A real driver of the scheme in Milton Keynes has been MKFM who got behind the scheme from the day it was announced. I'm not aware of the government extending the scheme into September but think it’s a great idea if local businesses want to offer further incentives when the Government scheme ends."

"It’s fantastic that MKFM is leading the way on this once again, this initiative will really help the Milton Keynes economy, especially our local independents."
