A car has collided with a test train on the Marston Vale line in Aspley Guise, 'potentially delaying the resumption of services'.

On 12th October, a car collided with a test train at the Berry Lane Crossing in Aspley Guise, Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership has reported.

No injuries were reported, however the train has been significantly damaged, potentially delaying the resumption of the services on the Marston Vale Line.

Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership say the driver of the car drove off without reporting the accident and are now appealing for witnesses.

In a post on social media yesterday (19/10), the partnership has asked witnesses to contact British Transport Police with any information here.

Test runs are currently taking place on the Marston Vale line for the first time since London Northwestern Railway took delivery of the new fleet.

The Marston Vale line runs between Bedford and Bletchley but has been out of action since its suspension last December, when Vivarail entered administration.

London Northwestern Railway has confirmed a limited timetable which will run on the line when services return in November.

The timetables will initially operate on weekdays only, with additional departures and the reintroduction of the Saturday service when more drivers complete training on the Class 150s.

An exact date has not yet been confirmed.

You can find the timetable here.
