Bletchley Park confirms it will close temporarily following Tier 3 announcement

Bletchley Park have confirmed they will be closing their doors temporarily as Milton Keynes prepares to enter Tier 3 restrictions.

The strictest coronavirus measures will apply in our city from 12.01am tomorrow morning.

In a statement, Bletchley Park said: "Following the recent announcement that Buckinghamshire will be entering Tier 3, the Bletchley Park site will be closed temporarily to visitors from Saturday 19 December."

"However, if you have a visit booked to our Vintage Christmas Grotto, we will be in touch with alternative arrangements."

Pubs, bars and restaurants across the city will also be forced to close their doors from Saturday morning with only a take-away, delivery or drive-through option being available.

In addition to changes in hospitality, sports venues, including Stadium MK, will no longer be allowed to have fans attending events along with all live performances being stopped.

Soft play areas, trampoline parks, casinos, bingo halls, bowling alleys, skating rinks, cinemas and other indoor entertainment venues must also close their doors.

But non-essential retail can remain open in Tier 3 areas - with both Intu Milton Keynes and The Centre MK confirming they will remain open.
