Amber weather warning in place across Milton Keynes as Storm Henk hits UK

The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for Milton Keynes, with strong winds forecast throughout the day.

An Amber weather alert has bee issued by The Met Office due to strong winds.

Storm Henk is set to bring winds of up to 80mph, causing disruption to travel and utilities.

The warning is in place from 10am until 8pm today (2nd January).

Paul Gundersen, Met Office chief meteorologist, said: "Storm Henk will initially bring very strong winds to the southwest of England and Southern Wales, with gusts of up to 80mph possible.

"As Storm Henk moves north-eastwards across the south of the UK through Tuesday the strongest winds will also move eastwards, across the south Midlands, Home Counties and East Anglia through the afternoon and evening."
