City Council leader and MK Dons chief to speak at event.
Presentations from a city authority leader and the head of MK Dons football club, plus a raffle to highlight the work of a valuable local charity, will form the centrepieces of this month’s Meet of MK networking event in the heart of the city.
Al’s Pals is the next chosen charity being highlighted by the popular MOMK evening event and, as well as that support from organisers MKFM, the group has the backing of MK Mayor James Lancaster who will attend the event.
Cllr Pete Marland, leader of MK City Council will address the invited audience while Neil Hart, CEO of MK Dons FC is also planned to speak on this interesting and exciting night.
It’s Al’s Pals’ fifth birthday this year and they will be celebrating next month with a Gala Ball at Milton Keynes’ Hotel la Tour. But for October, the charity will be celebrated at the MOMK evening, being held at The Residence Bar & Kitchen, in Rillaton Walk.
“Launching in lockdown it was a difficult start but now after five years we are a growing charity supporting patients and families in MK and Northants,” said Suzanne Brown, CEO, Als Pals.
“Supporting them with emotional support in hospital and at home, we are the only emotional support service at home for cancer patients and families regardless of diagnosis and prognosis.
“Having good relationships with MKFM and MOMK is vital to local charities like ours to ensure that we spread awareness not only with individuals but with local businesses as well.
“This helps us to raise awareness of our amazing work but to also spread the word about our events like our Gala Ball and others. It can also help us to spread awareness of our Business Pals and how local businesses can help and support us in that growth.”
MKFM’s ‘The Meet of MK’ gathers every month at an exciting Milton Keynes venue. This month’s event is on Thursday 23rd October at The Residence Bar & Kitchen. For more details or to book tickets, visit: www.mkfm.com/events/mkfms-meet-of-mk.
