A5 in Milton Keynes named one of UK's best roads

The A5 in Milton Keynes has been named the 5th best road in the UK by delivery drivers for online electricals retailer AO.

AO drivers travel over 100,000 miles each day when contracted by AO, delivering goods to postcodes all over the UK.

Delivery drivers working for the company have recently been voting for their favourite roads and have named the A5 (which passes through Milton Keynes on its way from London to North Wales) as their fifth favourite road in the whole country.

The A9 in Scotland has been crowned the best road to drive in the UK, while the M6 and M25 have been named the worst.

Over a third of Brits surveyed agreed with AO's drivers that the M25 was the worst road to drive on, with the M6 coming in with 26%.

David Ashwell, Managing Director of AO Logistics, said: “It’s no surprise that over a third of the people surveyed expressed an interest in driving for a living. The UK has some stunning driving routes - our drivers are out on these roads every day, so they know them better than most.

"Travelling all over the country is certainly a perk of the job!”

Those participating in the research were also asked what they listen to in the car, Over a third (38%) said they tuned into national radio stations while local radio stations were voted for by 34%.
