19-year-old from Milton Keynes charged with knife possession following stop and search

    A teeanger has been charged overnight with possessing a knife in a public place.

    The charge relates to a stop and search in Benbow Court, Milton Keynes last night (4/7) at just after 11pm.

    Adio Femi, aged 19, of Blanchland Circle, Milton Keynes, was charged with one count of possessing a knife blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.

    Femi is due to appear at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court today (5/7).

    It comes as Thames Valley Police announced the launch of its brand new anti knife operation last week.

    Operation Deter recently launched in Milton Keynes, where police say there is particular community concern about knife crime after a number of tragic incidents earlier this year. The main objective of the operation is to make 'better use of charging and remanding offenders aged over 18 to court', ensuring that a robust message is sent to anyone found in possession of a knife.
