18 new coronavirus cases today - and nearly two weeks since a virus-linked death in Milton Keynes

    There were 18 coronavirus cases recorded in Milton Keynes today, and there have been no virus-linked deaths announced for nearly two weeks.

    The positive update comes as it has been revealed that over 93% of over 50s in Milton Keynes have had their COVID-19 vaccine.

    The COVID-19 data brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 19,842 - of which 120 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate, or infection rate, in Milton Keynes has fallen from 50.8 per 100,000 people yesterday to 49 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is below the national average, which stands at 54.5 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there were an additional 4,479 people tested positive today with 51 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    None of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll stands at 461 since the start of the pandemic. 

    It has been thirteen days since a virus-linked death occurred in Milton Keynes.
