117 new coronavirus cases reported in Milton Keynes today as case rate continues to fall

    There were a further 117 newly recorded coronavirus cases in Milton Keynes today.

    It means a total of 15,396 people have now tested positive for coronavirus since the start of the pandemic - of which 1,703 were in the past seven days.

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes has fallen again today from 691.4 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 644.6 cases per 100,000 people today.

    For comparison, the 7-day case rate is 751.9 in Bedford, 440 in Central Bedfordshire, 777.7 in Luton and 502.7 for the UK as a whole.

    At Milton Keynes Hospital, no new coronavirus deaths were announced today.

    Nationally, an additional 38,598 people tested positive for the virus and 671 sadly died within 28 days of a positive test.

    3,857,266 people have now had their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine nationally, an increase of 298,087 since yesterday.
