Join Vicki on The Evening Show, Monday to Thursday, 7pm-10pm. Bringing you "Ten In A Row" each night at 7pm - ten back to back songs, uninterrupted by adverts - As well as all the latest hits and some classics thrown in for good measure.
Each night, between 9pm-10pm, she not only plays hits by famous singer / songwriters and bands, but also plays, promotes and supports local, unsigned, upcoming musical talent from MK and surrounding areas.
Playing tracks from four local artists / bands per show, Vicki also regularly hosts interviews and exclusive live session with them, plus she brings you your local, weekend gig guide on a Thursday Night too.
Besides promoting the local music scene, Vicki also interviews big name artists and bands visiting the region, as well as attending UK-wide festivals as MKFM’s roving reporter! Names she has interviewed in the past include Razorlight, Chas and Dave, Scouting for Girls, The Cuban Brothers, Therapy?, RavenEye, Royal Republic, King Prawn, Finley Quaye, The Wurzels, Sonic Boom Six and Lars Frederiksen to name but a few.
My hometown before MK was North London.
The best thing about Milton Keynes is that you get the best of both worlds living here, there’s old (and ancient!) parts of the town sat amongst the modern.
It’s clean, with loads of green space and the grid roads are amazing for zipping around from one side of MK to another quickly.
I also love that MK is so close to London and Birmingham for a change of scene and that we have an amazingly vibrant local music scene here in MK.
My first jobs was as a Saturday girl, aged 15, working on the Record Bar in Woolworths.
When I’m not on the radio, I love attending gigs and festivals, visiting new countries and cities, spending time with my partner and our dogs, adding to my vast collection of 200 pairs of high heels and "brothel creeper" shoes, spending time home-cooking veggie and vegan food, writing my monthly local music column in Celebrate:MK magazine and I also enjoy volunteering.
My favourite artists we play are not able to be shared! As I have to remain impartial to the local bands that I play and not have my favourites! ;)
If I won the MK Secret Sound I would make a donation to charity and have a luxury holiday... and buy some more shoes!
Favourite Food is spicy food, preferably Indian, Thai or Tapas.
My tipple is a cold and fizzy Cava Brut, or a fine Champagne is the occasion calls for it and the purse can stretch to it.
I dislike bad manners, rudeness and selfishness. A ‘thank you’ goes a long way, as does being kind to others.
Apart from my show, my favourite shows on MKFM are Breakfast with Mikey, Nicholas Hunt’s ‘The Modern City’, Stevens on Sunday and I also love the anarchy of the Mayo and Viccars’ show too.
You can hear podcasts of Vicki's recent interviews here.
