MKFM Local Music Show
Join Vicki on The MKFM Local Music Show, Sunday evenings 10pm - midnight. Bringing you local music, all the latest hits and some classics thrown in for good measure.
About Vicki
My hometown before MK was North London.
The best thing about Milton Keynes is that you get the best of both worlds living here, there’s old (and ancient!) parts of the town sat amongst the modern.
It’s clean, with loads of green space and the grid roads are amazing for zipping around from one side of MK to another quickly.
I also love that MK is so close to London and Birmingham for a change of scene and that we have an amazingly vibrant local music scene here in MK.
My first jobs was as a Saturday girl, aged 15, working on the Record Bar in Woolworths.
When I’m not on the radio, I love attending gigs and festivals, visiting new countries and cities, spending time with my partner and our dogs, adding to my vast collection of 200 pairs of high heels and "brothel creeper" teddy boy shoes, spending time home-cooking lush vegan food, writing my monthly local music column in Celebrate:MK magazine and I also enjoy volunteering.
My favourite artists we play are the local bands that I play on my local music show on Sunday nights, we have so much great musical talent in and around MK.
If I won the MKFM Mystery Voice I would make a donation to charity, have a luxury holiday... and buy some more shoes!
Favourite Food is spicy food, preferably Indian, Thai or Tapas.
My tipple is a cold and fizzy Cava Brut, or a fine Champagne if the occasion calls for it (and when the purse can stretch to it!)
I dislike bad manners, rudeness and selfishness. A ‘thank you’ goes a long way, as does being kind to others.
Apart from my show, my favourite show on MKFM is The Last Bus to Beanhill with Dan Mayo.
