MKFM Local Music with Vicki McCarthy
Vicki McCarthy not only plays hits by famous singer / songwriters and bands, but also plays, promotes and supports local, unsigned, upcoming musical talent from MK and surrounding areas.
Playing tracks from a minimum of twelve local artists / bands per show, Vicki also regularly hosts interviews and exclusive live sessions with them.
Besides promoting the local music scene, Vicki also interviews big name artists and bands visiting the region, as well as attending UK-wide festivals as MKFM’s roving reporter!
Names she has interviewed in the past include Razorlight, Chas and Dave, Scouting for Girls, Cast, The Cuban Brothers, Therapy?, RavenEye, Royal Republic, Chris Jericho, Clutch, Toploader, Nik Kershaw, King Prawn, Finley Quaye, The Wurzels, Sonic Boom Six and Lars Frederiksen to name but a few.
