These are the 25 most common passwords used in 2018 - and if you use any, you should change them

Research by password management application SplashData has revealed the 25 most used passwords in 2018.

Using any of these passwords means your online accounts will be at a heightened security risk, as criminals can gain access by trying the most common passwords first.

Choosing a strong password that you can remember easily

If you're looking to change your password, here's a great way to make it very difficult to guess.

Come up with a simple sentence - for example 'The cows on the field eat lots of grass'.

Then use the first letter of each word as your password - in this case it would be 'tcotfelog'.

Finally, replace some of the letters with numbers or symbols, for example the letter 'o' can be replaced by a zero.

In this case, you would be left with the password '1c01fel0g' - much more secure than any of the above yet still very easy to remember.
