Ten Fun Facts about tomorrow's Super Bowl LV

    Ahead of tomorrow's Super Bowl between defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, here's ten fun facts about one of the biggest shows on Earth.

    1. For the first time in the history of the Super Bowl, a team will play in its home stadium. The Raymond James Stadium is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and is known for having it's own Pirate ship in the stands.
    2. Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest eating day in America. In last year's game the National Chicken Council projected that Americans would eat a record-breaking 1.4 billion chicken wings over Super Bowl weekend. 
    3. Super Bowl adverts are the most expensive television segments in the world. During last years game a 30-second Super Bowl ad cost $5.6 million
    4. Super Bowl I was known as AFL-NFL World Championship Game. In the first game in January 1967, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs. 
    5. Some Super Bowl tickets have cost more than the average American's annual salary. A ticket for Super Bowl LIV in 2020 cost between $4,000 to $60,000. In 2019 the average American income was just over $50,000.
    6. Despite being the biggest musical performances, The NFL does not pay bands or artists to perform at the halftime show. The Weeknd will be headlining this years performance. 
    7. The NFL uses Roman numerals when naming the Super Bowl to avoid confusion. The NFL season usually starts in September, but because the Super Bowl is normally held in the following February they give it a number. Super Bowl V was the first Super Bowl to be numbered. 
    8. Tampa Bay's quarterback Tom Brady is the most successful quarterback in Super Bowl history. Previously of the New England Patriots, Brady has appeared in the game nine times with six wins. He lines out in his seventh tomorrow. 
    9. In 2015, Super Bowl XLIX attracted 115 million viewers. For comparison, 9 million viewers tuned in to watch Chelsea vs Arsenal in the FA Cup Final in August.
    10. The winning team gets to go to Disneyworld. As well as winning the Vince Lombardi trophy and a lucrative Super Bowl ring, they get to visit the President and a trip to Disney World.
