New exciting challenges for Milton Keynes Scouts as they take on escape room

Always looking for their next adventure, Great Linford (St. Andrew’s) Scout Troops were really excited to try out two portable escape rooms from "Escape for Real".

The unique “break-in” game kits seemed like a perfect way for the Scouts to use their problem solving and team building skills while having lots of fun at the same time!

The Scouts, who are aged between 10 and 14, worked in teams of 7 or 8 to crack the codes and solve the puzzles. The games are timed, so naturally each team wanted to be the fastest to solve the puzzles and beat their friends!

Nathan Smith, one of the scouts’ leaders who supervised the activity, said: “Both game kits were really engaging – with just the right difficulty level to challenge the teams and keep them working hard. There were loads of cool lights and sound effects in Zero Crystal, while some surprises in Pirates of Zero World came totally unexpected even for the adults!”

Not only did the kids really enjoy themselves, but as with all good Scout Troops, they took the opportunity to tick off some all-important badge work along the way! The challenges required lots of teamwork and clever thinking, and every team member played a crucial part in cracking the codes!

Some quotes from the Scouts: “I loved the lights!”, “It was great when we won the crystal!”, ‘’We were definitely the best team!” and “Best Scout meeting ever!”

“Most of the Scouts had tried escape rooms in the past, but these games were unique as they were delivered to the Scout building and provided a great experience for everyone to join in with. It really was a great way to spend an evening!” – said Nathan.
