A local teacher has used lockdown to expand her online tutoring company by hiring 17 more tutors.
With eight years' experience as a classroom teacher, Manisha Sahdev, owner of iXL Tutors, chose to use this knowledge to create inspirational and individualised lessons for students.
Prior to running her own company, Manisha was Team Leader of Economics and Business in a successful Milton Keynes school but chose to leave the classroom in March 2021 to focus on expanding iXL Tutors, an online tutoring company.
From this experience, Manisha created iXL Tutors, enabling students to excel in their learning and take ownership of their futures.
iXL Tutors has a small team of highly qualified and experienced tutors that guarantee commitment to outstanding and interactive lessons.
Manisha Sahdev said: “Knowing students is the key goal of iXL Tutors. We want to provide supportive, enjoyable and innovative learning in a safe learning space. All our tutors are fully qualified teachers, and enhanced DBS checked.
“My goal for the business this year is to secure funding from the Local Government to enable us to provide free tutoring classes for young people across Milton Keynes. When we secure this funding, we will be able to run face to face classes for young people who have struggled during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
iXL Tutors run 1:1 and small group tutoring for Primary and Secondary students online, helping students from Key Stage 1, all the way up to A Levels. Tutors are dedicated teachers, who have their own subject specialism.
