Local businesses trial Milton Keynes' newest business hub

This first-class workspace and meeting facility provides a space for local businesses to use for various business-focused events.

It has been well reported that Milton Keynes is set to be one of the fastest growing cities in Britain over the coming years, thanks to its buoyant digital economy and central UK location.

In addition, post-pandemic, the flexible business space market is growing rapidly. Latest industry estimates suggest that there will be nearly two million people working in flexible office spaces by the end of the year.

As a result, more businesses are coming to realise the benefits of alternative working environments. This trend is especially apparent in vibrant business hubs such as London, Birmingham and, of course, locally in Milton Keynes.

This much-needed provision of flexible workspace, makes the opening of the Chaffron Centre, at MK College’s Woughton Campus, all the timelier.

The centre has been fully open for over two months and the initial signs are good. The centre has already received its first visitors and users to great success. With its doors now fully open, the centre has already hosted its first events and guests and is open for further bookings.

In June last month, local business representatives attended the first business breakfast with representatives from key experts to learn more about Industry Placements.

With the employment market particularly difficult at this time, our employer guests were pleased to learn how these services can support the growth of local businesses.

More recently, Digital Futures, delivered by Biztech, was designed specifically for local schools, as an overview of the ongoing digital research in Milton Keynes. The intention is to build stronger links between schools and technology companies, bringing these communities together to explore strategic opportunities.

The Year 12 students had the opportunity to quiz the presenters about their projects, try the latest Virtual Reality headsets and discover more about digital technology delivered through the SkillsHub:MK.

The Chaffron Centre offers flexible business space, meeting and training rooms, co-working areas, and managed and hybrid spaces, which means that Milton Keynes now has a resource that can respond to the needs of the market.

When somebody says, ‘shared business space’, some might immediately picture a crowded open space with little privacy or peace and quiet. That’s not what it looks like at the Chaffron Centre as it provides a space that is light, bright, and contemporary. It makes for a professional environment that is conducive to productive working.

The Chaffron Centre offers a range of different spaces, suitable for everyone from solo workers and larger groups. There are private spaces of all sizes to accommodate groups of between 5 and 100+. For smaller businesses, there are more suitable options such as ‘hot desk’ stations and for larger groups and events, the centre can even offer catering.
