Innovative EdTech business wins prestigious FSB award

The winners of this year’s FSB Small Business Awards across the East of England region have been announced.

MyNewTerm, a technology application developed by a former teacher to connect schools and candidates directly, has been voted Digital/e-commerce Business of the Year at the awards held last Friday at Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk.

The MyNewTerm application is used by many schools across Milton Keynes and surrounding areas and follows previous successes at the local Biztech technology awards in MK which recognised the businesses innovative approach.

Around 170 East of England entrepreneurs and employees attended the awards which were hosted by MC and BBC Broadcaster, Dave Sharpe.

FSB Development Manager, Lauren Dovey, said “We were particularly impressed by the standard of entries this year, and MyNewTerm did exceptionally well to beat off some stiff competition to be crowned Digital/e-commerce Business of the Year. Having been unable to hold live awards in the last two years due to the pandemic, it was wonderful to see so many small business owners celebrating their achievements together.”

Having made it through to the East of England finals, the Bedfordshire-based technology business will now compete against businesses from across the UK at the national awards in Glasgow, in May.

Founder & CEO of MyNewTerm, Wayne Cartmel, said: “We are thrilled to have won such a prestigious award. We were up against so many brilliant businesses across the region and to be crowned Digital Business of the Year is testament to the hard work from the whole team and the phenomenal growth we have experienced in the past 12-months, notwithstanding the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. We would like to pay special thanks to all our amazing customers and the many people who continue to support us on our journey. We look forward to attending the national final in May!”
