Supermarket chains Aldi and Tesco are among the retailers being forced to recall multiple brands of pastries and sausage rolls after it was found that they could contain pieces of metal.
Addo Food Group is recalling batches of chilled pastry products, including sausage rolls, pasties, pastry pies and slices because of potential contamination with small pieces of metal wire.
The products affected are own branded products produced for Aldi, Nisa and Tesco and branded products produced under the Walls and Millers brands. The retailers affected are also conducting their own recalls.
Affected items include Aldi 2pk Minced Steak & Onion Slice and Eastman’s Deli (Tesco) Chicken & Mushroom Pie.
The Food Standards Agency have issued advice to anyone who has purchased the affected products.
The advice is to not eat them. Instead, customers should return the affected products to the retail store where a full refund will be given. No receipt is required.
