Milton Keynes Dons assistant manager Luke Williams confirmed that defender Max Taylor will not be signing for the club this summer.

The 20-year-old Manchester United centre-back has recently been training with the Dons and is seeking an opportunity to play first-team football after recovering from testicular cancer.

Reports had emerged over the past couple of days that Taylor was in talks over a loan move to Stadium MK, but Williams, in this morning's press conference, confirmed that the youngster will not be joining the club.

He explained: "Yes, Max was with us. He trained and played a little bit but the qualities he has, we've either got those covered in the group already or it's the type of qualities we're maybe not pinpointing as much."

"Max is a very good player, we'll probably be playing against him in the coming weeks but no, he won't be with us for this campaign."
