Reports have emerged today linking Milton Keynes Dons with a loan move for Canadian international Theo Corbeanu.

Plenty of reports and rumours around the Dons in recent days have focused on the players that could potentially depart Stadium MK this month, while very few have shone a light on who the club may be targeting themselves.

However, the Sheffield Star have reported today that fellow League One side Sheffield Wednesday are set to lose Canadian international forward Theo Carbeanu, with the Dons named as his most likely destination.

Carbeanu, 19, is currently on-loan from Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers, whom he joined in 2018 after a two-year stint with Toronto FC's academy, but has been unable to establish himself as a regular in Darren Moore's side.

He has featured in just 13 league matches (averaging 52 minutes per appearance) so far this season, with two goals and two assists to his name during that time. Five further appearances, with one assist, have also come in the FA Cup and Papa John's Trophy.

With six caps and two goals for the Canadian men's national team, Carbeanu is a promising young player that Wolves are clearly keen on giving experience to, and the Star has highlighted the Dons' attractive style of play as a reason for the potential move further south.

The Hamilton, Ontario native is capable of playing in any position around the attacking third, while striker/centre forward appears to be his preferred position, and would provide Liam Manning with a player capable of filling the boots of recent loanee Max Watters.

It is still early days of the January transfer window, but with this the first serious report of the Dons' potential incomings, more are sure to follow in the coming weeks as recruitment efforts ramp up.
