MK Breakers host Bradford Dragons

Milton Keynes Breakers continue their KitKing Trophy exploits this weekend as they host Bradford Dragons in the Quarter-Finals at Bletchley Leisure Centre this Saturday for a 5pm Tip-Off.

The Breakers topped their group with three wins from three as they picked up victories over City of Birmingham Rockets, Bristol Hurricanes and Loughborough Riders respectively. Bradford Dragons, meanwhile, placed second in their group recording wins over both Nottingham Hoods and Newcastle University – losing to Derby Trailblazers.

Bradford Dragons retained the services of two highly regarded players this Summer with both Jordan Whelan and Rihards Sulcs returning to the Yorkshire based outfit. Whelan averaged 14.4 average points last season, with Sulcs claiming the honour of being the second all-time points scorer in the NBL.

They have also recruited well with England International Kofi Josephs and big-man Oscar Baldwin – who both have played BBL during their careers. Josephs enjoyed stints with Worcester Wolves and Manchester Giants. Josephs also set a BBL record in November 2021 scoring a BBL record 46 points in one game – the most ever by a British Born player in the league’s history at the time during his time with Plymouth Patriots. Baldwin, meanwhile, featured for Caledonia Gladiators and helped them finish joint second in the BBL last season.

Adrian Scarborough has quickly become a fan favourite in Milton Keynes with his 21 points, nine rebounds and five steals in the win over Loughborough Riders earning him Player of the Week accolades in Week 3 of the KitKing Trophy. KJ Johnson and Kai Walker have also been impressive since their arrivals this Summer, with Nate Robinson and Blayne Freckleton both scoring well in their returns.

A win would see MK Breakers surpass last season’s run in the KitKing Trophy, but coming up against a strong Bradford side will prove a stern test. We’ll need all your support this weekend as we look to put another deep in. Tickets are available HERE.
